Who we are

OmnyScholar is a study tool built by OmniCore for students in Sri Lanka. If you want to reach us about anything on this page, email hello@omnicore.lk.

What we store

Your account

Your email address and password are handled by our authentication service; we never see your password. Alongside it we keep a profile: the name you choose to be addressed by, your institution, your programme, your preferred reply language, and your plan.

Your course material

The PDFs you upload, lecture slides, handbooks, past papers, are stored so they can be searched. Each one is also processed into passages of text with a page number attached, and into numeric embeddings that make searching possible. That processing happens on our own server.

Your work

Notes you type, conversations with Scholar and with the assignment agent, drafts, outlines, gradings, practice cards and their review history, and the sources you chose. This is the substance of the product: without it there is nothing to help you with.

Payments

If you subscribe, payment is taken by PayHere. We never see or store your card details. What we keep is the record of the order, what was bought, for how much, when, and whether it succeeded.

Usage

We count what you use, how many assignments, gradings and source searches, because plans have allowances and we have to apply them. We also keep a log of what the agent did on your behalf, so that when something goes wrong it can be explained rather than guessed at.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
• We do not use your uploaded course material to train any model.
• We do not show your work to other students. Nothing you upload is public.
• We do not read your material except as needed to run the product or fix a fault.

Where it is kept, and who can reach it

Everything is stored on a server we run ourselves in Sri Lanka, not on a third-party cloud database. Access is restricted at the database itself: rows are tied to your account, so one student cannot read another’s material, notes or conversations even if they try.

Backups are taken nightly and kept off-site in encrypted form. The key that decrypts them is not stored on the server.

The AI engine

To answer a question or draft a section, the relevant passages of your material and the text you wrote are sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. Only what is needed for that request is sent. We do not send your email address, your payment details, or material unrelated to what you asked.

How long we keep it

Your material and your work stay until you delete them or close your account. You can delete an individual file, a conversation or an assignment at any time from within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile, your material, your conversations and your work.

Two things outlive that, and we would rather say so than be discovered: records of payments are kept as long as the law requires us to keep financial records, and encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule rather than being reached into for a single row.

Your rights

• Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Correct anything wrong, most of it you can edit yourself in Settings.
• Have it deleted.
• Object to how we use it.

Cookies

We set the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app rather than quietly changing the date at the top.
